Can you guess what is the most popular dinner idea while having ‘take away’ or ‘home delivery??? Yeah for me it’s always Pizza. Whenever I’m in no mood of cooking or get late due to some work pressure I love to stretch my legs in hot bubbling water and enjoy my pizza over scotch. Yeah you got me. Pizza doesn’t sound good with scotch but sometimes weirdo works fine with me.
But on the other hand who does like all those dumpsters of cheese on the thick bready crust?? I rather prefer thin soft base loaded with fresh veggies and meat and ofcourse with less cheese; in fact no cheese at all if possible.
Past two weeks were damn busy for me. I hardly cooked at home those days. No, I dint even get time to bake. My kitchen was literally closed for the period. But on Friday late evening when I actually got some free time there was no time to prepare a full course dinner. But I wished to prepare some appetizers. The fact is I was dying to get back to my kitchen. So I promptly took the opportunity to try out something new at home but which definitely would remind me the taste of outside. But the time was limited and I had to hurry to fit it within the 30 mins time frame. Finally I prepared my favorite Pizza Appetizers or Mini Pizza.
Here is the recipe of Pizza Appetizers or Mini Pizza in 30 mins.
Preparation Time: 5 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins (baking) + 5 mins (cooling)
Total Time: 30 mins
Yield: 12 hearts
Ingredients:
Store brought pizza base : 3
Pizza sauce : 1 cup
Cheese slice : 3
Cherry tomato : 12
Jalapeno : 1, cut in roundels
Dried oregano : 2 tbsp
Chili flakes : 2 tbsp
Heart or any other shaped cookies cutter
Olive oil : 1 tsp
Mini skewer/ toothpicks : 12
Preparations:
Preheat the oven to 2200C. Cut out 3-4 heart shaped pieces of bread from each pizza base. Be careful not to tear them apart. Drizzle olive oil in a baking pan and carefully place the heart pieces, leaving little spaces between them. Bake them at 2200C for 5 mins. Remove from oven immediately and allow to cool enough to handle.
Using one size smaller cookie cutter cut out pieces of cheese from the cheese slices.
Place 1 tsp of pizza sauce on the top of each hearts. Place the heart shaped cheese slices on top of it. Use one heart of cheese slice for each heart of the bread.
Place one piece of jalapeno on the top and finally place half slice cherry tomato above all. Insert one mini skewer or toothpick in the middle of each piece of setup.
Bake at 2200Cpreheated oven for 10 mins or until cheese melts.
Enjoy hot with cheesy dip or chili-tomato salsa dip.
