Valentine’s Day: Only three more days to go. A day of love, passion, chocolates and all about hearts. And who doesn’t want a warm heart filled with Love?? I Do. But definitely if the heart is filled with chocolate I would die for it.
It is the theme of my today’s post: Snickers Chocolate Brownie Hearts. Feeling Dizzy?? Don’t go back and read again. I am perfectly fit and fine both physically and mentally. Many of you must be thinking, “brownies and hearts can be combined but what the hell is snickers doing here?? Let me tell you a simple thing, when it is about heart anything is possible. Even snickers filled hearts too.
Though I am not much brownie fan, like to have it once a while. Especially when it is V’Day, brownies has to be there in the menu. But give me a break from the typical old one; rather give a break to that old man. Not even heart shaped old brownie. I wanted something new, something fresh. Finally I decided I will go with white chocolates brownie this time. But then found few of snickers bar in the freezer and instantly decided to try with combo of snickers and white chocolate. Frankly speaking I wasn’t sure about the output but I was game for the experiments. So the game began.
When I finished baking it was bit pale in color compared to regular brownies. So I got worried. But without hesitation I started garnishing as I had to finish quickly. I served them before dinner as snack (read for testing purpose to save my ass) and I could only save 4 pieces of them for real dessert purpose. By the way I prepared 12 sandwiches. I think there shouldn’t be more talking and we should be jumping to the recipe part Now.
Here is Snickers Chocolate Brownie Hearts Recipe.
Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 20 mins
Total Time: 35 mins
Yield: 11 sandwiches
Ingredients:
Dark chocolate : 180g
White chocolate : 100g
Snickers or any frozen caramel chocolate : 100g
Butter : 150g
Eggs : 2
All-purpose flour : 1¼ cup
Baking powder : 1 tsp
Cocoa powder : 2 tbsp
Milk : 1/3 cup
Caster sugar : ½ cup
Salt : ¼ tsp
For garnishing :
White chocolate: 20g
Cream :& 6 tbsp
Chocolate sauce : 4 tbsp
Cherry : 1 per serving
Caster sugar : 1 pinch per serving
Preparation:
Finely chop both dark and white chocolate. Roughly chop snickers or frozen caramel and cold butter. Take a small microwave proof bowl. Arrange butter and dark chocolate in the bowl and microwave on High (900W) for 1 min. stir well to mix them together by using a fork. Don’t over mix. Cover the surface with a cling film and keep aside for later use.
Take a large mixing bowl. Sieve and sift all the dry ingredients in it. Keep aside. Take another medium mixing bowl. Cream butter and sugar together. Add egg and beat with the help of an electric beater for 1 min on medium speed or until batter is pale and fluffy. Pour in the chocolate mixture and gently fold with a wooden spatula to make things together.
Place the sieve on the top of the wet ingredients mixing bowl and re-sift flour mixture in such a way that the wet mixture should be covered with the dry mixture. Mix with the wooden spatula in the shape of ‘8’ until everything gets incorporated. Fold in chopped white chocolate and chopped snickers.
Preheat the oven to 1800C. Line in the baking pan with parchment paper or grease wit few drops of oil and dust with ½ tsp of flour. Tap the pan on the kitchen counter to dust off the excess flour.
Now pour the brownie mixture into the pan and level off with the help of the spatula. Tap the pan few times on the kitchen counter to get rid of air bubbles from the batter, (if any present).
Bake at 1800C for 20 mins or until a skewer comes out clean from the middle. Allow the brownie to be in stand-by for 5 mins. transfer it to the wire rack until it is cool enough to handle.
Using a heart shaped cookie cutter cut out pieces from the base and keep separately.
Melt white chocolate in microwave for 30 secs. Beat well until smooth batter forms. Add cream and fold gently until everything is combined well.
Now take each piece of heart, Slice it off horizontally into two hearts with almost equal thickness. Take one thin heart and drop 1 tsp of cream and chocolate mixture and spread evenly. Add more if required. Place the other thin heart on the top of the first one as a lid. Drop 1 tsp of chocolate sauce on the top of it and spread evenly. Let it flow as natural, if flowing down. Wait for 5-10 mins or until settled. Sprinkle some caster sugar on the middle of the top heart and place a cherry. Use one cherry for each sandwich on the top for a neat look.
What? What are you waiting for more?? It is done. Go grab few of them and take a corner.
Serve at room temperature or little warm. Pair with some ice cream and chocolate sauce to play dirty.
Happy Valentine’s Day to All 🙂
