They say, “Life’s pleasures often lie in the simplest things. With simplicity, you derive humility , wisdom, and happiness”. Happiness; that’s what a bread pudding can always give you; it will be always a wise choice to gulp them down immediately and after having such a yummy thing your happiness will surely make you humble. But sometime repetition of any simple delicious dish can make it boring as well. So to get back the same old charm you need to indulge yourself in tiny winy twist here & there.
By this time most of you already know that I’m a hard core dessert lover. I often have my dessert-attacks any time of the day. So I try to keep something handy all week long. But due to this “healthy habit” I don’t get to see these beauties very much. But I had enough of my patience and decided to give myself a sweet treat.
I hadn’t decided on what I’ll make but I knew it’s going to be loaded with Nutella. Okay let me have a little confession here: few months back I did not even know what Nutella is! Few months back actually I found many interesting recipes in fellow blogger friend’s pages with a very new ingredient. Their clicks were so amazing along with beautiful recipes I couldn’t resist my temptation and started looking for that mischievous key ingredient: Nutella. And as usual couldn’t find anything near to it. Rather dumped my pantry with some chocolate sauce. But few weeks back when I visited supermarket I found it there, just waiting to surprise me. I dint know that time that my surprise was not over. The real surprise was the taste of Nutella. When I tested the very 1st spoon of it I couldn’t stop me from having more and more and that bottle was gone on that night only.
Not to worry I bought another bottle and it was already dedicated to some ‘constructive purpose’. On other words I was determined to make some of those delicious looking recipes. No need to say how hard job it is! And I’m so proud of myself for that. I finally made atleast one preparation with Nutella. No please don’t ask me what happened to the rest of the bottle.
Yes, as the heading is shouting it is a Bread Pudding. But definitely not an ordinary bread pudding. It has 3 completely different flavors in different layers to produce an immense pleasure for your taste-buds. In each bite you will be surprised with Nutella, Strawberry Jam and to bind them together none other than Cottage Cheese. Have it in the morning as breakfast or as evening snacks or as dessert after dinner with loads of additional chocolate sauce and strawberry sauce. It will be equally delightful in each way.
Here is the recipe of 3 Flavored Bread Pudding with Nutella, Strawberry Jam and Cottage Cheese to give your taste buds that blissful pleasure of flavors.
Preparation Time: 15 mins
Cooking Time: 60 mins
Total Time: 75 mins
Yield: 4 individual serving
Ingredients:
Bread slices: 4
Egg: 4
Milk: 1 cup
Light cream: 1 cup
Granulated sugar: 2 tbsp
Cottage cheese: 200g
Nutella: 1 cup
Strawberry jam: 1 cup
Butter: 4 tbsp
For Garnishing:
Light cream: ½ cup
Strawberry sauce: ½ cup
Chocolate sauce or Nutella: ½ cup
Cherry: 12-15
Preparation:
Take a medium bowl. Crack eggs one by one in it.
Add 1 tbsp of butter and beat lightly.
Pour the light cream in it and beat until smooth.
Pour the milk and stir in a light hand. Don’t over mix everything. Set aside.
Take any oven proof glass bowl. Rectangle or oval shaped pans are best for this preparation. Grease the pan with dollop of butter. Don’t try to use any substitute of butter
Spread nutella on one side of each bread and butter on the opposite side.
Place two bread slices in the pan, buttered sides down. Drop 4-5 tbsp of egg-milk mixture on the top of the bread slices.
Drop 4 tbsp of cottage cheese on the top of bread slices.
Spread the cottage cheese as evenly as possible.
Place 2 tbsp of strawberry jam on top of the cottage cheese layer and swirl with a skewer.
Pour half of the previously prepared egg –milk mixture on top of it.
Repeat all the steps again with two more bread slices with butter on one side and nutella on the other and topped with cottage cheese and strawberry jam layer. Pour the rest of egg-milk mixture on top of it.
Drop 1-2 tsp of strawberry and chocolate sauce on the top.
Swirl with a pin or skewer and refrigerate for 3 hrs minimum. You can refrigerate whole night also. The more time you let the bread soak, more moist your pudding will be.
Preheat the oven to 1800C. Place the pan in the middle rack of the oven and bake for 60 mins.
During baking the pudding will rise up so don’t worry nothing is going wrong. It may cause few cracks of the top. It’s okay to have some cracks.
Once done, remove the pan from oven immediately and place it on a wire rack to let it cool completely.
Serve immediately as warm dessert or refrigerate for 1-2 hrs and serve as cold dessert.
