Christmas is just two months away! You must be thinking why am I counting on Christmas now? Actually Christmas is all about rum soaked fruitcakes, cookies, gifts & family get together to me and for a perfect Christmas fruitcake you need to start your prep work a.k.a. fruit mixing by now about two to three months before Christmas. It is a huge step which needs follow-up in every week. So you can’t perform this any other time of the year on your hectic schedule even if you want to. I always wished to have a Christmassy fruitcake all year long whenever I want! Finally I think my prayers are answered. Britanniahas launched a cake named, ‘Nut & Raisin Romance’ which is fully loaded with almonds, raisins and orange peels. True that no fruits are there yet I’m happy to grab my share.
The Product:
It is extremely moist and crumbly slab cake, full of almonds and raisins. The cake has orange peel in it which gives a beautiful flavor. It also gives me the feel of Christmas fruit cake. (And of course it is one of the reasons why I loved the cake so much). The texture of the cake is just too good to describe in words. It will just melt in your mouth in minutes, leaving the beautiful taste behind.
According to the taste in my opinion this cake will definitely stand top of the queue. There is no such cake available in the market currently which has similar taste or texture. There are plenty of fruit cakes or nut cake or in other various flavors but none of them has orange peel which creates all the drama in account of flavoring.
Then you can actually taste real almonds and raisin in each bite which is again a big lack in other cakes. Britannia did not compromise either with the taste or flavors; they truly established the romance between cake and flavors.
Packaging:
The outer packaging is very interesting and glamorous. The satin finish dark chocolate colored packaging with a standout picture of the cake on it is hardly avoidable in a rack of grocery store. The packet is air tight and safe.
Inside it there is a smaller transparent plastic container with a tight lid keeping your delightful cake safe and secure. I like the attractive design on outside but on the same time I’m bit disappointed with inside container. It is bit thin and the seal is also not so good. As you can see in the picture my received sample cake has got some punches on it.
