Small coffee bars are truly heaven for coffee lovers like me. Where you can lay your hair down after work on weekdays and can enjoy little snacks with a large coffee. And on weekends I prefer to enjoy my post lunch coffee in these cafés too. When I saw this café few days back for the first time I knew I have to try it. Though it took me a while to be there, finally I experienced Habitats and now I’ve become one of the regulars there!

Ambiance:

Ideally I think a good café should have comfortable sitting arrangements with good food where you can sit and enjoy your coffee for long time. Unfortunately I don’t find this kind of cafes much and not to mention, Habitats Café is one of them. This place is small but not crampy at all. They have a small yet neat lounge downstairs which is obviously a better option.

Food:

Hot/Cold Hazelnut Twist

I am simply in love with hazelnut flavored coffee and after tasting Starbucks’s version I seem to hate this coffee from all other places. Surprisingly I love the taste of the hazelnut coffee here; coffee was strong enough to understand I’m, drinking ‘a coffee’; hazelnut flavor was strong but not over powering.

The only thing which bothered me little was, cold coffee was bit sweeter than average. But one can live with that easily.

Choc a Moch/ Café Mocha

Same strong flavored coffee with cocoa/chocolate in both cold & hot version is known as Choc a Moch & Café Mocha, respectively. Again coffee was good with right amount of chocolate syrup or cocoa; not too sweet not too bitter. Both tasted perfect to me.

Chicken Nuggets

We had ordered chicken nuggets to go with the coffee as sandwiches were going to take some time. Nuggets were good but nothing special. They got the crunch on skin and soft flesh inside. Nuggets were cooked perfectly.

Tuna Salad Sandwich

We ordered tuna salad sandwich with Panini bread. Filling was good but way too salty for me. I couldn’t even finish my sandwich. Bread was fresh and smelled nice.

Smoked Salmon Delight

I loved the smoked salmon delight sandwich here. The filling was soft, delicate and it was almost melting in my mount between the Panini bread. The freshly baked bread has slight crust on outer side which added a good texture to the sandwich overall.

Barbeque Chicken Surprise

This sandwich has slightly sweet barbeque sauce with diced chicken, tomato, onion and jalapeno as filling. While overpowering bbq sauce is sweetening the sandwich, the kick of jalapeno will keep you engaged in every bite.

Smokey Affair

Smoked meat is one of my weaknesses and habitat’s Smokey Affair made me their instant fan. The soft smoked chicken and ham are layered with tomato, lettuce, mayo and wrapped in slightly crusted Panini bread; it’s just heaven!

I also tried their home delivery option and I’m seriously so happy with their delivery that almost once in a week I’m opting for it. Their packaging with paper boxes is too good; it keeps the food fresh and doesn’t make sandwiches/fries soggy.

Service:

Service should be the second most important thing in any restaurant, especially in café or sandwich bar. If you have failed to engage or encourage your customer, you will lose business. Habitat’s people are offering a quick and prompt service with warm smile on their faces.
