Dining in Incognito is an unique pleasant experience of fine dining inside a shopping mall. The place is not a big one so it can be over looked very easily. I had to take one round of the floor to spot the place. But once you are inside you are too far from the pandemonium to realize that you are still inside the mall. Another thing about this place is their each and every dish just wooed us with the presentation; they were just treat for the eyes and of course for the tummies too.
Ambiance:
The place is small but very elegant with wooden furniture and lighting while the posters and pictures on the wall give an experience from the streets. When we entered the place it was almost full except only one table and we were lucky enough to get that central one. Yeah, lucky us for the day!
Food:
Margarita & Martini
I completely forgot the names of the cocktails, please spare me this time. But both margarita and martini were good, less sweet as I prefer. And as always, margarita was a bit closer to my heart than the martini.
Chicken Popcorn
Chicken popcorn was presented with flavored mayonnaise. Breaded popcorns were so crunchy that we totally forgot the fact those were deep fried and had two servings on the spot. Breadcrumb coat was well seasoned and chicken were moist. It’s a must dish to have here.
Bacon & Waterchestnut Wrap
These tiny bombs are the best thing they bring out from the kitchen. Bacon wrapped waterchestnuts are grilled and served with flavored mayonnaise. The bite size pieces were sealed with toothpicks which was so effective to enjoy these with the cocktails. (Keep your hands on the glass only.)
Fillet Mignon
I’m a steak person and I simply don’t waste any opportunity to enjoy them. but sadly I was little disappointed with this dish (and only this). I prefer my steak medium rare but somehow I found their ‘medium-rare’ steak was not even close to rare actually way over than ‘medium’. So it was bit dry and chewy for me through rest of the things on palate were just perfect including the red wine reduction.
Fish N Chips
First let me mention here, we had placed the order of Fish n Chips around 11.45pm and the chef was kind enough to accept the order for us. So it was truly understandable when there was little trail of oil in the palate with the fish. Fish had crunchy exterior and delicate flesh inside along with the crunchy fries. The peas puree and seasoned mayo made a great combo with the dish.
Classic Mango Mascarpone Cheesecake
I’m not a dessert person in general especially after heavy dinner. But in Incognito I had to try the Mascarpone Mango Cheesecake after checking out so many good reviews in zomato. And I don’t regret my decision at all. This super light, less sweet cheesecake just complemented the entire dinner and left us craving for more.
Service:
Staffs were extremely polite and helpful. We had placed our last order around 11.45pm. they confirmed from the chef and he was also too friendly to accept the order and presented us another stunning dish from their kitchen.
Pros:
Elegant environment,
Beautiful food with stunning presentation,
Service.
Cons:
Food is bit pricey.
Cost:
INR 2500 for two people (including tax and alcohol).
Verdict:
This is already in my favorite list and I’ll keep visiting them even if I don’t have to go for shopping in Phoenix mall.
