The name ‘Starbucks’ has already become the heartthrob of all coffee lovers around the globe. It needs no introduction at all. There is no doubt it has become the largest coffeehouse chain worldwide. It is roaring and winning hearts in total 64 countries at present. It is not just a coffeehouse; it is a house of aroma, taste, flavor and warm hearts.
Previously, I had heard a lot about Starbucks from friends who already had chance to taste their products. Unfortunately my country, India wasn’t included in their map that time and I used to wonder if there will be any good day when I can taste the very same in my country. Finally they heard the prayers of coffee lovers like me and they started opening their stores in different cities. It took them a while to open one in my current city and it took few months to drag my lazy bum in the store (no kidding)!
Anyways last weekend I was determined to try the coffee and went straight to Amanora Town Centre (as I heard it is the best one in town). And finally I tasted the much awaited coffee-time of mine. We had tried two different flavored coffees with two sandwiches. I’m sharing my experience here by category.
Ambiance:
The place is quite cozy to hang around with friends or just to sit in a comfortable couch to relax and enjoy your coffee. This store has comparatively low crowd than other stores so one can sit and even enjoy the food with the free Wi-Fi for longer time.
Food/Coffee:
Hazelnut Latté:
It’s a rich espresso with hazelnut flavored syrup and creamy milk. I was happy to see they have soy-milk as an option with regular milk/cream and indeed it is good news for lactose intolerant like me. Hazelnut Latté is a light coffee (not heavy with cream and sweetener) with strong taste of coffee which I can’t recall to have in any other leading coffeehouse chains. But very disappointingly the hazelnut flavor is very faint which I expected a bit stronger. I opted for hot and medium sized serving as that’s how I prefer my coffee. But later I realized the small size should be enough for a quick fix. If you are planning to spend longer time medium is okay for you.
Cold Coffee:
It is nothing but coffee and milk blended with ice. Surprisingly it is not loaded with ice only; you can taste the coffee in it. Again it is a plus for me from rest of the coffeehouse chains. But as the name refers it is simple cold coffee which tastes good on a summer evening. That’s how cold coffee should be, right? On other hand if you prefer your cold coffee loaded with crushed ice and topped with whipped cream, then it is definitely not for you. You can check other sweeter options from the menu.
Sandwiches:
Double Meat Club Sandwich:
This sandwich is total meat extravaganza. It has pork sausage and chopped lamb in a spicy tangy sauce partitioned by omelette, tomato slices. Bread was crusty on the outside soft inside. Taste was on the spicy end; so if you are not heat lovers, be careful on it. Overall it’s a perfect thing for spicy meat lovers to gulp down with your coffee.
Tandoori Chicken Kebab Sandwich
It is definitely not another chicken sandwich with few chicken slices dabbed in red sauce. It is more like a pouch filed with mild flavored shredded chicken. Again this crusty bread has similar soft interior and perfectly puffed up with delicate filling. Overall nice mild bites for coffee lovers.
Service:
At the end it will be unfair not to mention the friendly gesture and polite behaviour of staffs. Not to mention they are active too; I din’t have to wait longer than 10 mins for my order to arrive on my table.
Cost: 800 INR (Cost for two approximately)
Cons:
Cons:
The only con I could find in ‘Starbucks Coffee’ is the price. It is bit expensive to spend on a cup of coffee on regular basis. Another thing is the menu has only few items. Hope they will include some fresh variations soon.
Verdict:
Overall it was a nice coffee experience for me with ‘real coffee’ and food. On my way back I already knew I’ll visit soon!
