“Seven Days without Chocolate makes one weak!”
And see here I am, two weeks on a row without any chocolate; not even a tiny bite 🙁 Still I’m Alive though definitely lighter (in weight) and weaker(mentally). After two week’s tight scheduled diet I feel much better now but when I see dessert pictures it drives me nut. Only a dessert lover like me can understand how much trauma I had suffered in this period.
As I worked hard in past two weeks this weekend I had decided to give me a small sweet treat. Yuppieee! Its dessert time finally! Even the thought of having a dessert gives me such a relief. Whenever I think about dessert, I get tempted to have a simple cube of chocolate instantly. So I decided to have a chocolate dessert; not to mention I gulped down more than one cubes already.
I wasn’t in very experimental mood. And more over I decided not to have more than one serving so I was looking for something which I had done before. Then I remembered I had an exquisite chocolate dessert few weeks back; very preciously on New Year Eve; Skinny Triple Chocolate Mousse. It is low calorie (156 calorie per serving only) comparing to other regular chocolate mousse and completely dairy free.
Recently I found this Dairy Free Whipping cream named D’licia in a super market. It is a perfect solution for any lactose intolerant person like me as it is made of soybean (what? you are soy sensitive too? Sorry can’t help you then). I’m using this for quite a long time and never had any issue with it. It is good for icing, ganache, frosting and yes it’s perfect for piping too. It is a perfect topping for any fruit salad or custard or even a great creamer for your coffee. I’m so glad I found this; finally I can enjoy all those desserts which I have been avoiding till date. I’m attaching a picture of the product which I took on my mobile.
Oh yes, now back to our Skinny Triple Chocolate Mousse (Vegan) otherwise you might think it is a paid post by the company. On the New Year eve I prepared this very same chocolate mousse with plenty of servings. And I was so much sure to do the photo shoot on the next day. Damn me! Couldn’t realize when it got over. Nothing was left apart from empty bowls with tiny chocolate strains around it. So last weekend I prepared this again and had a good fun throughout the day from preparation to photo shoot to relishing the taste; I truly enjoyed the ‘taste of heaven’.
Here is the recipe of Skinny Triple Chocolate Mousse (Vegan).
Preparation Time: 05 mins
Cooking Time: 10 mins
Resting Time: 0 mins
Total Time: 15 mins
Yield: 6 servings
Ingredients:
Dairy free whipping cream (I used D’licia): ¼ cup (Yields 2 Cups Whipped)
Icing sugar: 1 tsp (adjust the amount according to personal preference)
Dark chocolate: 50g
Milk chocolate: 50g
White chocolate: 50g

Equipment:
Whisk
Large mixing bowl
3 individual mixing bowls
Serving glasses/bowls
Preparation:
Before you start your preparation, make sure cream is chilled. And if you live in summer based country make sure you keep the whisk and mixing bowl in refrigerator for 1 hr at least.
Take three different chocolates in three individual mixing bowls. Take one bowl at a time and microwave for 30 secs at High (900W). Remove the bowl from oven, stir lightly to tamper. If the chocolate is still stiff, microwave for another 30 secs at High (900W) and then stir. Follow the same with rest two types of chocolate.
Take a large mixing bowl. Pour the chilled cream in it and whisk for 2 mins or until cream is slightly thick. By the time cream will lose the gloss also. Add the icing sugar and beat vigorously for next 3-4 mins. Within 2-3 mins cream will form soft peaks and within another minute hard peak will be formed too. Just don’t stop whisking.
Once you reach your desired consistency of the cream, stop whisking. Divide the cream in three molten chocolate filled bowls with equal portions. Mix with spatula gently until everything incorporates.
Transfer each mousse to individual piping bags and pipe into serving bowls/glasses bowls. I used dark chocolate mousse as bottom layer, milk chocolate as middle layer and white chocolate as top layer. Do whatever you fancy. Your Skinny Triple Chocolate Mousse (Vegan) is done. You can have it just now or for later consumption refrigerate for 1-4 hrs. Remember the longer you will refrigerate, firmer your mousse will be.
It tastes better when served chilled. Remove the glasses/bowls from refrigerator just before serving; top with dollop of whipped cream and serve. You can also add chocolate curls/candies/glazed or fresh cherries or chocolate cigar or whatever is in your imagination but make sure you enjoy this true divine till the core!
