Hey there,
I’m Rimli and welcome to Scratching Canvas, the digital reflection of culinary and travel journal of my life through my lens. I’m the heart & brain behind this blog, Scratching Canvas. Here I cook, I click, I shoot, I blog and I share and (less glamorously) I do dishes too; this is the current cycle of my life. And behind the curtain I do a lot of taste test, collect props (I have actually turned into a shopaholic in the name of prop-collection), I lay on my sofa with frustration when things ain’t going in my way (and I dare you not to come around when I’m in this phase), I learn my lessons hard way after epic fails.
Now begins the toughest job on earth (to me), describing myself! No, I’m not a shy person at all but somehow I find it hard to describe ‘me’ in few words to fit in a column or to leave a remarkable impression. In spite of the fact my engineering college had included a course to develop our communication skills & expressing ourselves as compulsory in one semester I froze for a second or two in front of the interview panel before ‘describing myself’ (only on the first time, okay?). And the after effect is a big fat realization that it’s just not my cup of tea I guess (and hunt for another job, because I had lost this one then & there only). Anyway, let me try to fill up the page here.
I’m a Food enthusiast, big time (as if you don’t know yet) and I’m a true omnivore. I don’t believe in restrictions on food apart from one’s personal limitations (like I’m lactose & fructose intolerant and I have no say on it). My preferences on food keep changing from time to time but there is one thing which I can never refuse i.e. bread! Surprising? It may be one of the simplest staple yet I find it extremely versatile and satisfying for any time of the day. I always buy fresh breads from local bakeries and keep an eye for anything new they put in the display. I’m yet to try my hands on homemade yeast breads, may be this is the high time now.
I’m not a romantic person but I do have a strong love-line! My Love life includes my camera & lens and all my props which I use for the blog. But I’m a woman with a heart of 5 year’s old so I love many more including wild Orchids, hard rock and EDM music, warm rays of Sunset (cause a late riser like me never gets to see the sunrise), soft breeze in my hair, bare feet on beach, wandering in the oldest lanes of the city, any kind of crime thriller & fantasy be It movie or novel, TEA (from Darjeeling tea to Masala chai, from Earl Gray to Japanese Jasmine tea; except green tea, I hate it, I hate it), watching the green hills behind the lake from my apartment and many other things in this life. And yes I do love Bhatty too (are you seeing this Mr.? I said it, finally! Phew! And for the record, it is a hard job).
I do believe in trial-error-debug-fix-trial again method and apply it wherever fits.
Life is beautiful and I try to make it handsome.
