Moong Dal Halwa is a Halwai special dessert which is widely available in every next sweet shops in North Indian streets. There’s reason why this simple halwa is often bought from halwai instead of making at home.
Traditionally it takes hours to get the Mung dal cooked to perfection and tons of ghee to achieve that buttery smooth texture of Halwa. It’s a laborious job to make for a single person even for limited servings in today’s nuclear family.
Finally I’ve come up to a successful recipe of Moong Dal Halwa which will require 3 basic pantry friendly ingredients and you can enjoy warm halwa in 5 minutes cooking only. I have been making Moong Dal Laddo with this same quick fix method for years and every time jars turn empty before I could realize.
This ghee laden Moong ki Halwa is packed with nutty flavours from roasted moong dal and dash of sweetness unlike other Indian sweets. Proteins from the Moong Dal, nutritions from nuts & ghee made this Moong ki Laddo a healthy choice during homely celebration like Rakhi, Holi & Diwali especially for people like us who prefer subtle sweetness in even their desserts.
